HTX-100 Repair Service

Caption
Do you have an HTX-100 that you love, but is in need of repair?  My risk-free $99 flat-rate labor repair service can bring life back into your old rig!

Here's how it works:
  1. Send me your HTX-100 for a FREE diagnostic evaluation.
  2. I'll carefully inspect, diagnose, and review your radio, giving you a written email estimate for its repair.  Labor is always a flat-rate fee of $99, plus parts, which will vary based on your rig's specific issues (typically under $25).
  3. If you don't want to proceed, you can just decline the repair, and only pay to have it shipped back to you.  There will be no charge for the evaluation.  Alternatively, you can ask me to make you an offer to buy it as parts.
  4. Assuming you do want it repaired, just let me know and I'll get right to work on it.  Some repairs can be completed in a week and others can take months, depending on replacment part availability.
  5. Once repair is underway, you just pay for the labor, parts, and return shipping back to you.  PayPal is preferred, but personal check is also okay.
Included in your repair is a complete tune-up alignment, calibrating your radio to original manufacturer specifications.  In addition, all repairs come with a 90-day labor warranty (you only pay for shipping and parts on any additonal repairs within 90 days). Frequently-Asked Questions
Caption
Q: Can I pre-authorize a certain limit for parts?
A: YES!  To skip the estimate-approval step and stremline the process, let me know up-front the maximuim you're willing to pay for parts (i.e. $25).  That way, I can begin repair immediately upon receipt, if I can project the parts expense to be under your limit.

Q: How much does return shipping cost?
A: Typically, USPS with $250 insurance costs $20 (more for bigger/heavier radios).

Q: Do you work on the Radio Shack Realistic HTX-10 (Maycom/Albrect AE485S), the Uniden President HR-2510/2600, or the Ranger RCI-2950/2750?
A: YES!  I have performed many repairs and calibrations on these, and I'm glad to work on yours.  The flat-rate labor charges are:
  • HTX-10: $109 (+ parts + shipping)
  • HR-2510/2600 & RCI-2950/2750: $129 (+ parts + shipping)

Q: Do you work on and repair OTHER RADIOS?
A: YES!  Even though this isn't a business, but a labor of love for me, I have repaired many other rigs for other hams, including:
  • Yaesu FT-90, FT-100/D, FT-840, FT-890, FT-950, FT-991/A, FT-2800M, FRG-7700, VR-5000
  • Icom IC-703, IC-706MKIIG, IC-746 Pro
Just CLICK HERE to send me the details of your rig and get started.

Q: Can you "re-cap" (replace all the electrolytic capacitors in) my rig?
A: While a good recommendation for all older rigs, in my experience, I have found that less than 25% of my repairs have been capacitor-related. In addition, due to the type of labor required, many hams prefer doing this themselves and would find paying me to be cost-prohibitive.  Therefore, I do not offer a re-capping service.
